Matthew Libassi is an artist currently based in Tennessee. He studied English at UNC Chapel Hill. He moved to NYC after school, where he worked as an assistant for Wiz Kid Management, who were managing The Strokes at the time. While with Wiz Kid, Matthew managed tours for Strokes’ bassist Nikolai Fraiture and assisted on tour with Albert Hammond Jr. Around this time he began photographing on the streets in New York.

He moved to Los Angeles in 2019, where he continued his personal work and also shot commissions for Ford Models, Wilhelmina, and Elite. He began photographing music in 2022, documenting studio sessions for Boi-1da. In 2026 he shot Nine Inch Nails on their Peel It Back Tour.
